Expression framework is not open - I cannot for example derive my own BinaryExpression, or extend any existing one, or even create some TernaryExpression. I understand that making the framework extensible would be very difficult, so I suggest at least adding the general Tag property to Expression class.

Missing noun in ngen error message

When generating native images by running "ngen update", it output an error about failing to load sqlmetal.exe from microsoft sdks\windows\v7.0a\bin\x64 directory. There's a missing noun in that message, see details below. It is hard to pin point whether the error is in ngen.exe itself or sqlmetal.exe.

Cannot create new project if .NET 2.0/3.0/3.5 not installed

I was writing a paper on MRDS and tried an experiment by changing the "Identifier" member of a "Contract" class within a DSS service. When I changed the name of the member to _Identifier in the definition and the ContractAttribute and then rebuilt, the post build failed with a null object reference and then crashed Visual Studio.

I have noticed this problem before on SQL Server 2005 and it is present of my edition of SQL Server 2008. I am not sure if you have fixed the problem but I could not find a report of on it. The problem is if you click on the Database Diagrams folder in Management Studio and you get the message "The Database Diagram doesnot exist do you want to create it " If you say use it will pop up window to create the diagrams. But if you click "NO" is starts an error message that runs an infinte loop.

I have been having difficulty with Debug attachment on a 3.5 applicaiton runing in the 2.0.50727. About 9 out of 10 attaches the VS 2010 fails to load any modules. I was looking at defect https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=487949 and thought perhaps it is trying to debug in 4.0 instad of 2.0.50727. When you place an updatepanel within a control that implements INamingContainer such as a FormView the compiler treats any controls within the UpdatePanel as if they were not in the FormView. This can be a pain when you have multiple controls on the page within different FormView controls (or if you use both the Insert and Edit templates of the FormView) as you have to rename them.

Find-in-File image press freezes Client

I found that when I try to search for a word in my files using the "Find in Files" image freezes my Studio Client and I have to kill the process because it no longer responds. I also noticed that the process takes additional memory when I do this. I would say on average the memory usage jumps up another 150,000 K. I am running other programs at the same time, but i have 4 Gigs of memory, so I would not think my system is over-taxed.

Microsoft Visual Basic Compiler has stopped working

I get the "Microsoft (R) Visual Basic Compiler has stopped working" message immediately after loading a particular solution. I am able to load other solutions without difficulty. The error message occurs immediately after the solution contents appear in the Solution Explorer window. VS2008 then exits.

Build Definition History in TFS2008 & TFS2010

I would be good to have a history log of changes made to the Build Definition. Changes to the .proj file and .rsp (TFS2008) are saved into the version control repository, but changes to "Drop Location", "Build Agent", "Trigger", ... are directly saved into the database without a history trace: who, when, what. This is still the case in TFS2010.

I have a report that groups with summarized values that can be toggled to hide show details. When I export the results to excel, some of the detail rows duplicate in excel, but the summarized results are fine. The report display is correct and exporting to CSV or PDF matches the report results. The same exact serenio occurs in Visual Studio 2008.

In VS2010 OR designer, associations can only be created between keys. However, this requirement is not very clear by just reading the msdm documenation http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629295.aspx. It takes a lot of try and error to find it out. Editor Inserts Extra Line When Code Bocks are Collapsed and Wide

VB Editor When the attributes lines and their associated code block are both collapsed, if the text in either collapsed region is wider than the IDE Editing region, the editor inserts a new line between the collapsed attributes block, and its associated code block. When the editor is opened out, so that both collapsed blocks are less than the editor page width, the display behavior is normal. This happens 80% of the time. The other 20% it behaves as expected - no extra line added

Allow filtering of Rules and Errors to a specific file/s and project/s on the Error List panel

Is the project/solution has a lot of errors or warnings, it difficult to fix them in an organized approach. Having the ability to view error for a specific file/s or project/s would help developers find fix issues. In many cases the errors or warnings for a class will not be visible due to a large number of warnings or errors in other classes. This is especially true when trying to improve a existing code base with lots of design rule violations.
